The Long and Windy Road. curvy windy, not blowing wind windy.
Miles and miles of windy roads making me nauseous. But here's a good pic above. That's a big rock. The line going through the middle is a road.
Bridalveil falls and the half dome. We were lucky to see so much water flowing now. The road wasn't too crowded. We never had to wait on the road. Bridalveil falls was the only popular place we went into. We had to wait for a parking spot. I got out to go see the falls. A minute later a spot opened up! So Richard could get out to see the falls. He forged ahead and kind of left the dogs and I behind.
There was a small path up towards the falls we walked up. The mist from the falls was like rain. The squealing in the picture were a bunch of teens. Artie doesn't like rain, but both dogs dutifully went forward through the puddles from the falls and got wet, and didn't complain. They weaved in and out of the people with me without a peep until they saw a little bulldog.
More falls, I think this was Yosemite Falls. Every parking place was packed and we didn't feel like fighting the parking spots. I wanted to pick up a refrigerator magnet, and lunch. There was a HUGE parking lot that had no entrance or exit, I know, odd, until we got up to the mega store. I jumped out of the truck while Richard and the dogs went around the parking lot in circles. What a great guy. I also tried to follow the signs to the restrooms, but never found any.
We found a spot a few miles down the road where there were no people because this spot wasn't anything special and famous. But it was a great spot.
We stopped at the visitor's center because we wanted to get one of those passports to get stamped when you go to national parks. Richard plowed ahead and left me behind with the doggies. That was ok because I needed to sit and get my stomach to calm down. The above picture is a covered bridge. Sometimes taking pictures is tough with the dogs because one wants to go one way, and the other, and I want to go a third place for the picture.
Artie and Leinen really pulled hard to go down to the river. It is fun to see how agile they are. Walking around the rocks was fun for them.

So Richard talked us into walking the 3.5 mile meadow loop that allowed dogs. It was a meadow located at the entrance of the park across the street from some very old buildings used for lodging many years ago. They are still operational.
Richard and Artie. I don't know how he ended up with Artie, but it was a good match. The dogs kept walking and never gave up. It was cool. This path is also shared by horses. A group went by on tour. Leinen did his usual squealing and crying. The lady at the lead asked Richard to hold Artie as they passed. Artie was a complete gentleman. After the first few horses went by Leinen calmed down and was fine. Whew!
First of all, this is the Yosemite Park we stayed at. Awesome showers. Lots of places for RV's. The pool was at the top of the hill.
We left for Yosemite

Leaving Richard drove past the Do Not Enter cones to a Job Johnny so I could use it. We never did get close to the half dome.

Well, that's all, folks.
Yosemite looks beautiful, I've been there a couple times but neither trip was when I was old enough to appreciate the magnificent beauty of the park. It's on the "list" to visit, just trying to find a time that it isn't flooded with fellow tourists, I suspect that's not a reality given its' location and ease of access for other travelers passing through.
