Day 22 A little cheating-some copy from Richard's blog.

Day 22.  Don't tell him, we'll see if he reads mine.  His words will be in quotes.
"We left Las Vegas this morning and headed for Utah."
(Bridget speaking)  I took the doggies for a little walk.  They were a little barky so I took them back to the trailer.  They've done real well with all the rules in this park, but Leinen still does his hello squeal that to him means, look a friend!  I so want to meet you!   and to other humans it means, I a freaky, loud dog that will eat my baby alive.  We are still working on it.

So I put them back and went geocaching by myself.  Found a real cool cache that was made from an old Maybelline mascara tube.

Then I took pictures of the flowering bushes in the, yes, you know it, dog walk area.  But first, here is a parking lot.  I put this in because most parking lots, corners, anywhere decorate with big rose colored rocks.  The mountains are a pretty rose color.  I picked up a nice rose colored rock at Hoover Dam.

Middle pic above is a very pretty flower.  The bush to the right of it is the bush it grew on.

This has a name about something being fake bird of paradise.  My mother had a plant like this in Florida.  Last night I noticed that all the leaves were folded in.

This flowering plant was intriguing.  The other picture is the landscape we saw for miles in Nevada.

Nevada was very creative and artsy for their bridges and turn offs.  This shows a hare on the first wall.  We also saw metal palm trees and Joshua trees.  Several cell towers were metal palm trees.  I saw those in Mexico, too.

Hello, Arizona

I took this picture remembering back 12 or 13 years when I drove across the US in our Suburban and with 4 boys.  Richard was working in Fairbanks.  I remember driving across the desert then coming to this.  I couldn't tell where the road went.

Then I drove through and found this.  WOW-it was quite a surprise to me.  That was before GPS's and Google Maps.  I had no idea.  It was an incredible experience for me to go through flat deserts to BOOM big rocky hills.

Another view.

Hello, Utah.

Our backyard view.  Here's more from Richard
"Today, we are staying at another Harvest Hosts site.   It is still kind of windy with gusts around 25 mph so no awning today. But with a temperature of 74°F we have the windows open and running off of the batteries. The last couple of days we were lucky to get the inside temperature this cool during the day.
"It is really wide open around here and the hills are starting to look like Utah. Reddish with flat tops."

I found out that there was a Travel Bug Geocache close by.  I picked up two.  One is an Uncle Sam rubber duckie saying it wants to travel all around where the American Revolution was fought.  Why is it in Utah?  I guess I'll mail it back to my brother in VA.  The other one is from Chez Republic.  It wants to travel as far around the world as it can.  It had already taken a trip to Alaska.  I need to find someone who will take it to Asia.

Sunset, not as nice as Charlie's.

Good night.  Little Leinen is looking out the screen door, but you can't see him.
