Day 2, Beaver Creek to Watson Lake

Today was a long day, and I'm told that tomorrow will be longer.

We discovered Westmark soap and shampoos in our hotel room.  Turns out the whole compound was once a major stop when they had tour buses traveling through Canada to Alaska.  When did that stop?  Richard and I aren't sure.  I found the sign between trees.
That isn't what it is called anymore.  While walking the dogs around I found several buildings that would have been the hotel.  Only one is in working condition, the one we stayed in.  The rest is what I could call a "ghost" hotel.  Signs about bus parking, where to leave luggage, where the lounge is, and the laundry.

Here is a picture of a mini golf set up

They used some beautiful rocks around the grounds as borders for

flower gardens, a wishing well, and this chimney.  Leinen is barking at the raven on the roof.
These are pictures of sunshine, mountains and yellow leaves.  It went on for miles and miles.

It was a beautiful sunny day for driving. I'm having a hard time sleeping during the night and staying awake during the day.  After one nap I woke up and found out the trees were green again.  I guess we are going south.

This is the Yukon River.  Today we saw 4 fox (or do you say foxes?), one moose, 3 pairs of swans, a bunch of white dots that must be sheep, and several families of ducks.  We are in Watson Lake tonight.  I may have y\to sleep with thedogs since Leinen wants to keep barking.
good night
