I am catching up. This was taken Dec 19, 2019. We decided to have our anniversary at Lake Havasu. I was hoping to catch some pretty Christmas lights. Here is the London Bridge.
After we ate we decided to walk around and wait for sunset. These first pictures were taken on the island side of the bridge. Our restaurant was a part of a small mall.

Walking across the London Bridge. If you haven’t heard the story, here’s a short version. I got this information from havasuchamber.com if you want to read more. That site tells of the many bridges built before this one, how or why they were destroyed, people to lived on it, or had businesses on it. It is a very interesting read.
This current bridge had its first stone laid in 1825. It was, and still is, made of granite It was a structure of 5 arches. After years of adding cars and people, it started to sink. London Bridge is falling down....... The City of London decided to auction off the bridge. It sold for $2,460,000 to Robert P. McCulloch, founder of Lake Havasu City, AZ. In 1968. He spent another $7 million to have it moved. Each stone was marked to go back into its original space. He also used the original prints to build it. 1971- ta da! Ready to use!
Across the bridge, on the railings, people have left locks. Googling this told me that people put these “love locks” here to symbolize their love. Just like in France
Holiday decor in the mini London Town.
I think these were called cabanas. I would describe them as rooms on pontoons with no motors. You can rent them, and I guess have them towed out somewhere on the lake.
A view looking the other way on the canal at the lake
We waited and waited and waited for the lights to be turned on. Like waiting for a pot to boil. Also, when making dinner reservations and thinking of the sunset, I was off an hour because of the time change. That’s been a funny issue for us. We once went to the movies knowing what time it started. We drove from CA, across the bridget to AZ, but the theater was in NV, and I didn’t know which time zone it was on. I do keep my car clock on AZ time since we do our shopping in AZ. So it is 12:15 here in the RV, but looking across the river it is 1:15.
It seemed to take forever.....
This was taken from the bridge looking down into the London Town.
At last, the lights came on. Sad to see how many bulbs were burned out on the wreaths on the bridge, but it was still pretty.
This is another part of the London Town across the channel. The main building with light played Christmas carols that danced with the lights.
Back home. Yea! BINGO! The first day at Bingo I won two door prizes. I got a bunch of swag! The golf ball has a clip in it to hold extra money, and the last card of the day, which is a cover-all.
The highlight of Christmas was the prime roast Richard cooked using the Sous Vide. Do you see the tall rectangle shaped container by the back, near the window? That is holding water.
He put the meat into a bag and vacuum sealed it.
This picture shows only the top. The black stick thing has a metal bottom that heats and circulates the water. It was phenomenal! Melt in your mouth meat. I would highly recommend you getting yourself one. He is currently making chicken. Tonight we’ll have either chicken tacos or chicken enchiladas.
This is the wine Richard chose to go with the meat. Lol.
Here’s a preview of my next blog. Oatman, where the donkeys roam the streets and steal your purse.
Thanks for reading!
Blessings and hugs.
