Traveling to Oregon, Part 1.

Roses in the desert.

We left early in the morning for the 540 drive to Parump, NV.  It hasn’t been difficult to wake up early because the dogs haven’t really changed their sleeping time since Texas, two time zones back.  They wake anytime between six and seven AM.  It’s nice to get the day started early.
Here is the good-bye picture to the RV Park.

Hello, open road.

We had a nice drive through Saguaro country.

Lots were in bloom.

Where we crossed over into Nevada was a small oasis.  There were several businesses renting jet skis.  It was a pretty busy day!  It still looked like social distancing to me.  As we have traveled from state to state, we find many definitions of social distancing.

In this picture we had just crossed over the border into Nevada.  There was a casino right away.  In fact, there were 2 left lanes going to the casino.  Casino was closed.  But the green light was on for us to drive on in to Nevada!

I didn’t take anymore driving pictures that day.  Same old, same old.  Below we start the pictures of Nevada Treasure RV Park in Parump, NV.  The RV park in AZ had a cowboy theme, this one had a tropical theme.  So different.

Several waterfalls through the park in corners.

Lots of trees.

Roses!

Beautiful tropical plants.

This is looking down one road.  The sites were pretty close together, but the road wide.

This is the dog walk area.

This is looking out of the dog walk area.  Beautiful!  There were hummingbirds all over.  I even saw 2 quail, which had me quite excited.  It was the kind with the plume on top.  Of course I didn’t have a camera when I saw them.

They had shuffleboard, horse shoes, and tiki tables on the same end as the dog park.

Flowering tree.  It could be a Jerusalem thorn tree, but I didn’t really look at it that close.

The yellow flowers were filling up the road.

This is the aisle we were put.

Some of the spots for RV’s had these cute huts with tables and chairs.  Some spots had built in grills.

Another waterfall feature.

Pine trees?  Pine trees!

Bird of Paradise flower

This is the road leading in to the mail office.  Very fancy inside, and allowed you to walk your dog in.  I know because a man had walked his dog in to visit while I was there.  It also boasts of a HUGE room with a lot of gym equipment.

These pictures are from out front of the office.  There was also a feral cat running around that a resident has almost tamed.

Why this?  We are close to Area 51.

We had parked the coach outside of the park to put the car on the tow dolly.  It is a hassle we don’t like, but we are happy with the convenience of having the car to drive around.

I have been busy crocheting these for my sister-in-law, Sharon.  She puts buttons on them and they are used for the masks with elastic.  They go behind the head, and the masks are hooked onto the buttons.   My friend, Renee, thought they were soles for shoes.

My friend, Renee, is a spinner.  As I was typing this, Richard came in with a package for me from Renee.  She has sent me this yarn that she spun.  We are both learning some things.  We have heard that the direction the yarn twists makes a difference whether you crochet or knit the yarn.  So she spun me yarn that twists like an “s” and like a “z”.   So I will crochet something and see which twist I prefer.  Interesting.  If my reader-you-know anything about this, please send me a message.

Thanks for reading.  Time to quit and crochet!

More on the trip tomorrow.
